Born April 17, 1923 in Patterson, New Jersey to Charles and Lena Iandoli. At age 14, Edward left his home when he was accepted to the prestigious New York Military Academy. There, he began his commitment to his country. He graduated as a second lieutenant and served the United States Army in the 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Edward fought in the Pacific Theater and was injured in New Guinea prior to the end of World War II. Following the war, Edward attended Roanoke College in Virginia where he met his beloved Helen "Sweetie" Ellifrits. Edward finished his undergraduate studies at The University of Virginia with “Sweetie” by his side. The two were married December 29, 1945 and started their family. Edward continued his studies in Audiology and Speech Pathology at Syracuse University where he received his PhD. Employed by Albany Medical Center and The College of St. Rose, Edward devoted his life to helping those around him. He took great pride in his career and observing the changing technologies relating to his field. As retirement approached, Edward and his wife made their home in Englewood, Florida. There, he enjoyed his time crafting his signature golf clubs, playing golf, and boating. He took great pride in all he did, but was most proud of his family. Edward loved to treat his loved ones, showering them with hugs and affection. Edward is predeceased by the love of his life, “Sweetie”, and sons-in-law Russell Bates and Wayne Bennett. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Bates, Helen Walsh (John), and Patricia Bennett.
