Siegmar Adelmann, “Sig”, 81, of Castleton, went to be with Jesus 10/13/21. He loved his family and was a loving and generous husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1959 and Hudson Valley Community College in 1962. He married Sheila Hohmann in 1962. Sig worked for the A&P for 6 years and AT&T for 36 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Kiwanis and Telephone Pioneers and volunteered at the Anchor Food Pantry. While at AT&T he was a supervisor and was responsible for international communications for the Lake Placid 1980 Olympics. He is survived by his wife Sheila, daughter Debbie Allie, son Jeff Adelmann (Holly), and grandsons Jason Allen and Josh and Zack Adelmann. He is also survived by his sister Ilse LaTour and brother Walter (Debbie) Adelmann. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, October 18 from 9:30-10:30 with a funeral service to follow beginning at 10:30 at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton-on-Hudson NY 12033. Interment will follow in Horizonview Cemetery. The family requests that all visitors be vaccinated and wearing masks. Those who are unvaccinated may send their regards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sig’s honor to the Anchor Food Pantry P.O. Box 92, or Castleton Volunteer Ambulance 1700 Brookview Road, both located in Castleton-on-Hudson NY 12033.
