Obituary of Irene M. Fleshman

Irene Fleshman, of Castleton, NY, passed away on March 7, 2022 at the age of 104 years old.  Born in Chazy, NY, Irene was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Morse, and a graduate from the Chazy Rural School District. Irene worked in sales in the Maryland/D.C. area, specializing in women’s garments at Garfinkel’s and Hecht department storesechtH.  She enjoyed “night clubbing,” gardening, crafts, playing Bingo, and was a nanny for many years in VA.

Irene’s family would like to express their gratitude to the St Peter’s Hospital, CVICU, for their professionalism and comfort support provided to Irene during her last hours of life.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband Bud; her brothers William (Mary), Leon, and Leward Morse; sisters Eva Layton-Brown (Arthur), Elizabeth O’Dell (Herman), and Rose Morse; her stepdaughter, Ruby Fleshman and brother, George (Helen) Morse.  She is survived by her daughter, Helen Das (“Bob”); stepson, Delmar Fleshman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael Jalbert), Sheila (Jean-Marie Bourjolly), Catherine Das, and great-granddaughter, Olivia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to call at Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY on Wednesday March 16 from 4:00-6:30 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers a donation may be sent to your favorite charity.
