Vanderburgh, Ruth (Beals), age 85, formerly of South Schodack, NY passed away on May 21, 2021 after a brief illness. Ruth was born in Glens Falls, daughter of the late E. Vernon and Ruth (Ackley) Beals. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1957. Ruth retired from the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation after 21 years of service, after which she moved to South Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Predeceased by her husband Ronald Payne Vanderburgh in 1982, she is survived by her daughter Susan (Frank) Vitale, of Chelmsford, MA, daughter Beth (Jay) Blaufuss, of Fairport, NY, daughter Sally (Ed) Vanderburgh , of Port Charlotte, FL; seven grandchildren: Craig (Jaclyn), Jenna (Brett), Candace (Dylan), Ben (Jessalynn), Molly, Luke, and Payne; three great-grandsons, Emanuele, Logan and Caleb; brother, Alan (Sandi) of Savannah, GA, nieces, a nephew , and several cousins. Services will be provided by Castleton Funeral Home (formerly Ray Funeral Home), 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on May 25, 2021 at 11 am. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held afterwards at Horizon View Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Those who wish to remember Ruth in a special way may make contributions to High Peaks Hospice, 454 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY, 12801, in her memory.
